Port
An implanted port is like a secret door inside the body. It helps doctors give medicine and take blood with less fuss. It’s like having a tiny superhero helper!
Port access was a very traumatic experience for our daughter when she had cancer. I designed Boo in the hope he would help with port procedures, helping other children feel less alone and have some control during the process.
Insulin Pump
An insulin pump is like a tiny, magical gadget that helps manage diabetes. It gives your body insulin through a small tube placed under your skin, making it easier to keep your blood sugar just right. Imagine having a little insulin warrior always looking out for you, making sure you get the insulin you need without much fuss!

I cannot recommend Boo enough. As a child therapist Boo is such an amazing therapeutic toy - supporting children to express their feelings and making children with medical trauma feel seen and heard. The quality of Boo is also so incredible!
My 3yo daughter’s Boo arrived last night and let’s just say she’s obsessed. My daughter lives with type 1 diabetes so the inclusion of a T1D badge and insulin pump is so appreciated in our household. Representation is so important and I love that my daughter has a toy that she can relate to, but also can use it as a tool to convey her feelings and emotions (which can be difficult to do at this age!). I think Boo is a valuable tool for all children to help open up the conversation about feelings and even more so for kids living with a condition like T1D!
We have received our buddy boo and my daughter loves it. She not only is using him to learn how to identify her emotions as she is only 3 years old but also enjoys playing with him, offering comfort and the perfect play companion.
As a teacher this resource is also helpful
In the classroom as a role play resource and the badges help discuss medical conditions of the classes peers.
Boo is practical and very well put together, from the high quality product that is soft and inviting. To the very thought out helper cards I am very impressed with this product and would highly recommend.
I purchased this for my 5 year old, who after seeing Boo online, was obsessed. Everyday since boo, my 5 year old has carried him around and independently swapped over her little emotions on his belt. I love how Boo is the visual prompt for her to check in on her emotions. This allows her to then communicate with us, which opens up how we can support her, or build upon interoceptive awareness skills of 'how that emotion feels in her body'. She promptly switched her emotion from happy to angry the other morning when she was told she wasn't allowed a lolly for breakfast! She has always endlessly engaged in pretend play with boo. We love Boo and seeing the 'tool' work in real time with helping our littlest develop emotional insight and regulation skills is awesome.
Such a wonderful tool to support the expression of distress along with feelings that can be hard to express or articulate. A powerful resource that I have already used and will continue to promote.
